ERM-CA713 is a wastewater certified reference material, developed in support of the Water Framework Directive (WFD, 2000/60/EC). ERM-CA713 was specifically produced to include the four metals cited in the Priority Substances list (Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Nickel (Ni) and Lead (Pb)) at concentration levels which are targeted to comply with the environmental quality standards (EQSs) referred in Directive 2008/105/EC. ERM-CA713 is a wastewater effluent of mixed domestic and industrial origin. It has been acidified and fortified with Arsenic (As), Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu), Mercury (Hg), Nickel (Ni), Lead (Pb), Selenium (Se) and Zinc (Zn). This wastewater material will serve as a tailored quality control tool for laboratories involved in the mandatory monitoring of the Priority Substances prescribed under the Water Framework Directive. ERM-CA713 will supplement the series of CRMs for water testing available from the JRC-Institute for Reference Materials and Measuremen The material consists of a flame sealed borosilicate ampoule, containing 100 mL wastewater effluent acidified with HNO3 to about pH 2. Intended Use:
